Devizes before the Town: the Roundway Warrior, Roman Villa and Saxon Princess

Thursday 24 May at 7.30pm.  A lecture by David Dawson, Director of Wiltshire Heritage Museum.

Come along and find out about the history of Devizes at the time of Avebury and Stonehenge.  Hear about some of the latest scientific research and how it sheds new light upon the discovery in 1855 of the Roundway Warrior, buried over 4,000 years ago, evidence for a Roman villa close to Devizes and a Saxon princess buried on Roundway Down.
