Wiltshire Council Rates - good news!
In an interview on BBC Radio Wiltshire, John Brady, the Council's Cabinet Member for Finance, generously offered to increase our grant to cover the change in rates. This is fantastic news for us!

Newspaper report - "Devizes Museum Bill Shock"
The Gazette and Herald have published a story about the cessation of the 100% rates relief that has been given to us by Wiltshire Council. We have been informed that we will have 80% rates relief, and that we would then face a bill of £4,500 this year, equivalent to 12% of our grant from Wiltshire Council.
This is clearly a serious issue for us, but Stuart Wheeler, the Cabinet Member for Culture, and staff from Wiltshire Council are working hard to see if the situation can be resolved. We are very grateful to them for their help.
